Ds - Dan Streeter, Who am I?
Yup, thats me over there; at my wedding, if you've not gathered by now, I'm the guy behind Ds Websites. I'm 26, live in a beautiful town called Newquay in Cornwall, married and currently have two awesome sons, one 4 and the other is 2.
I've been interested in computers all my life, and naturally took an IT related route through my education completing with certificates and qualifications at A-Level from the Technicians Academy at Treviglas
I took a small break from IT after leaving college, and worked in various enviroments outside IT including working at a Go-Kart track, Bus Workshop and in the entertainments sector with Titan the Robot as a 'system operative' .
I inevitably came back into the IT industry and work today as a full time webmaster for the Nineplus Group.
I am proficient in HTML, CSS, PHP, the use of MySQL databases, Prestashop's E-Commerce Platform and the Joomla CMS enviroment. I work with Java and Ajax on a daily basis, although would not class myself as proficient in them as other languages.
Ds - In the short-mid term?
I have recently decided to put a halt on my work with Ds Websites - for one main reason which is that I have a lot of commitments at the moment that need a lot of my time. Besides my duties as a husband and father to my family, I work a full time job, have recently started an Open Learning Degree in Applied Theology at Regents Theological College, support my local church with my programming gifts, help with the childrens check in system on Sundays and also part of a year long leadership academy.
This does not leave much time for my family and then Ds Websites and for this reason - I have decided to halt all future projects.
Ds - In the long term?
With regards to the long term future of Ds Websites - I would love to see it running again in a much more ministry based platform; fully supporting Christian ministries, organisations and charities with the gifts God has given me. I will still seek to serve commercial clients with design and hosting services but this will be a sideline to enable Ds Websites to support where it can for as low cost as it can.
