How We Started

Well hello, and thanks for coming to find out a little bit more about DS Websites, I hope that I answer all of your questions.

Who are DS Websites?

DS Websites is owned and run by myself Dan Streeter. I have tinkered with computers since I was very young and naturally took the IT route at school and college. I left sixth form after completing my studies at the Technicians Academy and gaining a variety of Cisco accredited IT certificates. I then went on to continue studying for my degree in Web Technology but due to unforeseen circumstances I was forced to choose another course. This did not work out so I left and entered the real world.

When did it all start?

Not long after leaving university (and having a few months off) I received a call from one of my clients and my work in the web design industry began - Mar 2006. After working with Nineplus for over a year and a half more and more interest for my work started to generate and I then decided to officially set up as a business and started trading as DS Websites November 2007.

What do I know?

As you already know, I have been interested in computers for a long time and have acquired a lot of knowledge in this time. The qualifications I left sixth form with were:
Cisco IT Essentials 1
Cisco IT Essentials 2
Cisco CCNA Semester 1
AVCE ICT Grade C

These were all great qualifications and I greatly enjoyed them but they were all concerning actual computer systems and not the Web Technologies that I wanted to learn. I wanted to study Web Technology at degree level to gain all the expertise in various website languages, server technologies and much more but sadly the course did not run, and subsequently I self taught myself most of what I know today.
I am confident in HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MYSQL and the use of the Adobe suite.

What makes me tick?

In my spare time, I like to watch films, listen to music and spend time with my beautiful wife Holly. I love cars and have had the wonderful opportunity of owning my dream car the Subaru Impreza since I was 18. I would love to spend more time on the slopes snowboarding, but this year, i will be concentrating on my work, and improving my business.
